OUR HISTORY

At GT Motorworks, our story is one of passion, engineering, and motorsport — proudly carried across four generations. It began in the 1950s, when Joseph Khoury, our founder's grandfather, represented Auto Union and Fiat in Lebanon, competed in legendary international rallies, and secured national championship titles that cemented our family’s place in motorsport history. In the following decades, this legacy was strengthened by Saaid Khoury, Gilbert's father, who combined engineering expertise with competitive rally driving, while also building one of Beirut’s most trusted service networks for European cars.

The 1990s and 2000s brought a new chapter. With advanced engineering studies at Georgia Tech and MIT and professional experience at Ford Motor Company, our journey expanded beyond Lebanon. Collaborations with manufacturers such as Ferrari, Ducati, BMW deepened our expertise in high-performance engineering, while international recognition came in 2008 when we were appointed Chief Mechanical Engineer for Michelin’s global test drive program. In this role, we managed the technical operations for some of the world’s most iconic supercars — including the Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari 458, Porsche 996 Turbo, and Dodge Viper.

Building on this foundation, GT Motorworks was born — a dedicated hub for restoration, repair, and performance tuning of exotic vehicles. Today, our facility stands as Lebanon’s premier destination for collectors and enthusiasts, where vintage car restorations and modern performance upgrades are handled with equal care and precision.

But our vision goes beyond honoring the past. We are heavily invested in the future — integrating advanced restoration techniques, pioneering performance solutions, and continuously raising the standards of craftsmanship in Lebanon’s automotive scene. Every machine that enters our workshop is treated as part of a living legacy, and as part of the future we are committed to shaping.
